What kind of author is Simon Publishing best suited for?
Simon Publishing supports authors who prefer to skip the hassle and frustration of querying agents and waiting two to three years for a traditional book deal to move from contract to publication, if even selected by a publisher. Simon Publishing will put your book into your hands and out to the public in six months or less, depending on any additional work it may need. Our services are also an option for authors who are ready to self-publish but lack the technological skills required or the desire to learn them.
What experience do you have in editing and publishing?
Suanne Schafer has edited over 1000 short stories, 200 novels, and two anthologies. A writer herself, she understands the need to maintain an author’s voice while smoothing out the writing.
Jill Yris is a developmental editor with years of experience for nationally renowned professional clients. She’ll check your work for flow, facts, content and accuracy because every single one of your words matter.
Melissa Waters who was mentored by Joanne Simon Tailele, fully edited and designed all books released by Simon Publishing since 2023. She pays exquisite attention to detail in performing your final grammatical edit, and she especially enjoys designing custom book interiors.
What about the cover?
Robin Johnson will work with you to design your perfect cover. The first step you'll take is to fill out a form that describes the book and your wishes. Next, you'll choose some photos or stock images to start the process. The final decision is entirely up to you.
How is the work published?
Simon Publishing offers publication services through two print-on-demand printing companies, KDP Amazon and IngramSpark, as well as multitudes of ebook distributors such as Draft2Digital, Amazon, KOBO, Apple iBooks, Scribd and more.
How much input do I get as the author?
100%. Prior to final edit or publication, the author will have multiple chances to review and add input or ideas into the text, formatting, and/or design of your book.
How much do your services cost?
Services are charged by the hour or by total word count. Essentially we offer three main services: editing, ghostwriting and publication. You may choose individual service options or select a pre-designed package of services to prepare, finalize and upload your materials for publication. The Ultimate VIP Package that covers BOTH developmental editing and publication.
